Public Lav for Architecture - Day 15
Day 15 - February
**Context**
Day 15 February made the walls of Cluj flourish. 3 unexploited walls became clad graffities made of 15,000 origami lotuses. Over 2,000 inhabitants from Cluj took time to make the walls of Cluj beautiful.
Day 15 - March
**Context**
Day 15 March made the city flourish. 500 trees were planted with the help of residents in the Eastern Park, while 200 flowers were spread around town for residents to plant them where they believed the city needed to green. A manifesto that takes the form of giant white flowers brought the neglected areas from five neighborhoods of the city in everyone’s attention.
Day 15 - April
**Context**
Day 15 April reconsidered unused spaces. The former factory REMARUL 16 Februarie, was opened during a theater play gathering 200 people. Hundreds took part in dance demonstrations and classes in the city’s Central Park. Over 2,000 people attended the rooftop party, gathering donations worth of 3500 E for the renovation of the playroom from the Pediatric Oncology Clinic. The event was replicated at least 30 times this since than.
Day 15 - May
**Context**
Day 15 May helped transform the normal bread factory on the Traian street into a street art gallery. 8 artists and over 300 helped in this event.
Day 15 - June
**Context**
In June, Day 15 reactivated Grigorescu Beach. The local community took part in seasonal activities conducted on the site – more than 4,000 sqm furnished. The beach continued to host events throughout the summer, standing as evidence that the reactivation was successful.
Day 15 - September
**Context**
Day 15 September showed the real potential of a mobile market, arranged around the Engles area, which doesn't benefit of such initiatives. The mobile marketplace has gathered throughout the day, more than 3,000 participants and more than 30 manufacturers.
Day 15 - November

**Context**
Day 15 November reopened the Firefighter’s Tower that was closed for the public in the last decade. With a different story for each of the eight floors, the project brought back the light to the Tower and reopened it for the public, who could again enjoy the panorama of the city visible from the upper floor of the tower.
Day 15 is a recurring cultural event that took place monthly, durring the year 2015, aiming to bring the untapped potential of the public spaces by activating them throughout temporary material and immaterial experiences, which turned into landmarks of the city. Day 15 not only spoke of space, it argued upon what we consider as being the most important role of architecture: it generated human relationships, coagulated social and community activities and materialized them into tangible and relatable results.
