Arhitext design Foundation
Arhitext design Foundation has represented, for more than 25 years, a tool for the constant screening of the Romanian cultural space and for harmonizing with the international cultural trends in the fields of architecture, urbanism and visual arts. The objectives that guide Arhitext design Foundation in the projects developed are: promoting theoretical and critical debate in the field of architecture and urbanism, identification of past, present and future values, encouraging critical attitude, encouraging the emergence of young architects, urban planners and artists, synchronizing with contemporary debates form the fields of architecture, urbanism, art and design, developing interdisciplinary and intercultural platforms of dialogue, disseminating architectural / cultural products from our country in the region of East and Central Europe, and of the architectural / cultural products from this region in our country, developing a regional network of partnerships.
The series of editorial and cultural projects developed by Arhitext design Foundation naturally affirm its implication in the cultural life on a national and international (regional) level. Among the editorial projects we can mention: Arhitext review, a high-standard cultural publication and one of the most important trends publication in this field; the series Arhitext Ideas Archive, Arhitext Monographs, Arhitext Books, Prospective Nostalgias, AUPT – Architecture and Urban Planning Terminology (online project). Among the cultural projects organized by Arhitext design Foundation we can mention: Fluencies International Festival (the pilot edition of the Triennale), Arhitext design Awards (a contest organized since 1993), «5 o’clock» round tables, author and thematic exhibitions, experimental workshops for students, summer schools for students, «Challenges of Communication. Negotiated Visions» itinerant training, essay, photo and projects contests, student contests and, not least, the ample project initiated in 2013 - the first edition of the East Centric Architecture Triennale, which brought together in Bucharest architects and artist from Central and Eastern Europe and from all over the world.
Some of the most important aspects considered by the Foundation in its endeavors are inter-disciplinarity and the exchange of ideas between various related fields, supporting young professionals, as well as bringing the fields in which they activate closer to the general audience. Constant in following and achieving the proposed objectives, Arhitext design Foundation has become a platform for the exchange of ideas, for the observation of critical and theoretical stances which concurrently form and shape a cultural context, which represents a constant necessity.
